A Mini-Bridge over a Mini-Canal
Bali is famous for its ecologically sustainable waterways.
Bali has about 1,200 water collectives and between 50 and 400 farmers manage the water supply from one source of water.
Called subak (irrigation), it began in the 9th century.
For the Balinese, irrigation is not simply providing water for the plant’s roots, but water is used to construct a complex, pulsed artificial ecosystem.
I had to fortify my little subak portion in order to build a bridge that will handle truckloads of limestone (and future building materials):

Looking good!
